Life in the waiting Room

Imahe
You’ve heard it said that when God closes a door, He will open a window. Waiting for God to answer a prayer or act on our behalf is even harder. "But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles,They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint." - Isaiah 40:31. Our minds begin to ask questions. Is the Lord even listening? Have I done something wrong ? so He is giving me the silent treatment? Am I praying according to his will? The truth is, we don't have patience, if patience is a virtue, most of us are not very virtuous. It’s flat out hard to wait. When life or people don’t measure up to our expectations, being patient can be quite a challenge. But clearly, God wants us to develop this character trait. He may be preparing us something great that we cant imagine its possible. He is definitely teaching us patience, insight and encouragement as you sit and wait on His perfect timing. It reflec

5 Ways to Keep Him Chasing After You

Imahe
You’ve had a couple of really great dates. You like him, a lot. You think he likes you. What should you do now so you don’t mess it up? As a professional matchmaker in Los Angeles, I get butterflies in my stomach when I hear from one of my female clients that the first couple of dates with a hot prospect have gone really well. Here are my top five early dating tips to help you keep the guy chasing after you. 1. Let Him Be the Guy Give him the opportunity to initiate dates with you versus you chasing him. Be responsive when he calls or texts. Be open and receptive to the types of dates he wants to go on, and be easy to please versus being fussy/picky about what you’re doing together. Meet him on his terms, doing the kinds of things he naturally enjoys, and see how it feels to be in his world. If he’s a big, strong, powerful, accomplished man, he’s accustomed to calling the shots, and he will so appreciate a woman who lets him lead. 2. Show Lots of Respect and Appreciat

The 3 Spiritual blessings in Christ

Imahe
Christians should believe, unfolding the richest glorious of God’s grace in Christ. Dead sinners are made alive and gain eternal salvation by grace through faith. When we are in Christ we received spiritual blessings from him. Scripture says “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.” – Ephesians 1:3. The 3 Spiritual blessings in Christ 1 . Called to be his Children - He chose us to be his sons in Christ according to his purpose and will.” he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.” – Ephesians 1:5-6 2. Redemption through his blood - We have received forgiveness of all of our trespasses. “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, 8 which he lav

Before You Chose God, He Chose You

Imahe
“You were chosen according to the purpose of God the Father and were made a holy people by his Spirit” (1 Peter 1:2a TEV). There are many people in our broken world asking why things don’t seem to go right so much of the time. They want to know, “Is there hope?” Hope is essential. You and I need genuine hope — not just optimism. Optimism is psychological. It’s based on the way you think. Hope is theological. It’s based on who God is and his relationship with you. Optimism is positive thinking. Hope is passionate trusting. The book of 1 Peter is a letter of hope. Peter wrote it to Christians who were suffering persecution in the Roman Empire. In the first seven verses of 1 Peter, God gives us five roots of radical hope. Over the next few days in these devotionals, we’ll look at each of those five roots. The first is this: God chose us before we chose him. The Bible says, “You were chosen according to the purpose of God the Father and were made a holy people by his

Focus on Faith, Not Feelings

Imahe
“Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised” (Job 1:21 NIV). When you are a baby Christian, God gives you a lot of confirming emotions and often answers the most immature, self-centered prayers — so you’ll know he exists. But as you grow in faith, he will wean you of these dependencies. God wants you to sense his presence, but he’s more concerned that you trust him than feel him. Faith is what truly matters to God, not what we feel. The situations that will stretch your faith most will be those times when life falls apart and God seems nowhere to be found. This happened to Job. On a single day he lost everything — his family, his business, his health, and everything he owned. Most discouraging for Job was that for 37 chapters of the Bible, God said nothing! How do you praise God when you don’t understand what’s happening in your life and God is silent? How do you stay connected

Trust God to rebuild what is Broken

Imahe
Have you been broken? Troubled, failed relationship, destroyed, lost everything, and feeling like nothing is happening in to your life? We all have experienced at some point in our lives. But here is a great thing, we have a loving father who comforts us and promised to rebuild what has been destroyed.  God promised to rebuild what had been destroyed and to replant what had been plucked up. “It shall come to pass that as I have watched over them to pluck up and break down, to overthrow, destroy, and bring harm, so I will watch over them to build and to plant, declares the Lord” Jeremiah 31:28. We’ve experienced troubles, trials and heartbreaking circumstances in our lives but God never leaves us. “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6. God is full of promises and those days are coming, declares the Lord. Nothing is impossible to God, “Jesu
