FASTER INTERNET?



LOOK: The Philippine President Rodrigo “Rody” Roa Duterte has been vocal in the state of the internet in the Philippines, saying the only way to improve internet speed is to introduce competition. The users now can look forward to a better telecoms, in terms of internet speed as well as access in the country.


Duterte offered China the chance for one of it’s firms to be the 3rd major telecommunications company in the country. During the bilateral talks between President Duterte and the Chinese Premiere, Roque said “The President offered to the people’s republic of china the privilege to operate the 3rd telecoms carrier in the Philippines, referring to the November 15 meeting of the two leaders.

The offer was made to China because of it’s proven track record that is capable to provide services to million of users. This is a great news to the people of the Philippines, to have a faster network provider. The offer to china was made on the same day the Philippine government signed a deal with a Facebook subsidiary to build an “Ultra high-speed” broadband infrastructure, which would make the government virtually another major player in the telecommunications industry. The agreement with Facebook should have been signed as early as 2016, the Spokesperson said.

The President said China has the Capital and Technology to provide efficient telecommunications service. They are among the biggest in the World, “ President Spokesperson Harry Roque said.

Now we have a better hope for faster internet in the country. The deal, called the Luzon Bypass of the Pacific Light Cable Network, will provide bandwidth of two terabits per second. Expect faster accessible internet soon, as new telecommunication companies will enter in the Philippines, Roque said on Monday.
