BREAKING NEWS: Petition for NAIA back to his Original name MIA sinusulong!
“Once NAIA is taken off the list of the world’s worst airports, the permanent name change (back) to Manila International Airport can be implemented,” the airport chief said.
Monreal toured NAIA yesterday and was briefed on the changes that need to happen in order to remove the airport from the list of the world’s worst.
However, Monreal said that he didn’t
want NAIA’s problems identified with the new administration of President
Duterte, so he has recommended that the airport name be changed temporarily to
that of the previous president. “After all, these problems started or became
worse during the past administration,” he said.
Newly-appointed
Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) General Manager Ed Monreal told
reporters today that he will recommend to President Rod Duterte to rename the
Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) to NoyNoy Aquino International
Airport — at least temporarily.
Reading
RA 6639, one can't find a valid reason why the country's main airport should be
named after Ninoy Aquino, Jr., who was a former senator and convicted in 1977
by a military court of subversion and murder. Thus, Ninoy Aquino is not a
hero/patriot for inspiration and emulation of this generation and generations
still unborn. He was clearly a POLITICIAN and by naming the Philippine's main
airport to his name is an insult to all Filipino heroes who died for the
country and not for political ambition.
Among
the fixes needed include collapsing ceilings, power outages, flooding, stinky bathrooms,
long lines and overcrowding, extortion schemes like the ‘laglag bala’ and
airport taxi problems.
This
petition is made in the pursuit of renaming the Ninoy Aquino International
Airport back to its original name Manila International Airport, you must be
asking why? It is simple ever since the death of Ninoy Aquino the whole nation
have been divided, I want it back to its original name solely because at the
present the airport is plague with corruption, anomalies, and the scandalous
"laglag bala"; of which I'm sure that if you have done any travels in
the past couple of years you feel unsafe and paranoid the moment you step out
of you car. This will not solve the problem but it will give us a more of an
ownership of the airport as a society, We are not indebted to the Aquino
family, naming sites to people should be left to those who have done a great
deal to better our lives.
“It will take a several months before we can correct all these problems,” Monreal said, “but it can be done.”
Now, we, the People of the Republic of the Philippines is urging the Philippine Congress, through Senators Dick Gordon, Migz Zubiri, and Manny Pacquiao as co-authors, to repeal RA 6639and rename NAIA back to its original name Manila International Airport (MIA).
